The DGMT is a major funder in child development in South Africa, chiefly concerned with scaling up ECD services, and deepening quality of services to children.
In 2012 the DGMT will be funding two HIPPYSA partner sites in Coronationville and Slovo Informal Settlement, west of Johannesburg.

2012 will be the final year in a long relationship with the Childwick Trust and the Jim Joel Education and Training Fund. Over the past ten years the fund has supported materials development and core costs.

The Department of Social Development is South Africa’s largest government department and is cheifly responsible for the service delivery aspects of Early Childhood Development Services.
At provincial level in Gauteng, the Department partially funds HIPPYSA’s model sites in Diepsloot and Winterveldt as their first home-visiting ECD programme.
The Ububele African Pyschotherapy Centre - http://www.ububele.org
Ububele provides a range of psychosocial services for under 5′s in poor South African communities; and provides a substantial tranining offering for practitioners working with children.
All HIPPYSA practictioners in both demonstration and model sites enrol in a foundational course offered by Ububele, “Thinking about the Early Child”. In addition, Practitioners who work in the New Mothers Support Programme enrol in “Introduction to Parent-Infant Psychotherapy”. All leadership figures – programme managers, coordinators – enrol in ‘Working with Groups”.

The Sunshine Centre Association works with families who have special needs in various communities in Gauteng.
The SCA’s START Programme (Striving To Achieve Results Together) is a holistic home-visiting programme for children under 3. In 2012, this programme is currently being piloted in HIPPY Demonstration Sites. SCA provides training and monitoring to HIPPYSA practitioners.
Trevor Huddleston Memorial Centre – http://www.trevorhuddleston.org
In the memory of the Anti-Apartheid activist Father Trevor Huddleston, the THMC, based in the historic neighbourhood of Sophiatown (previously Triomf), supports communities associated with forced removals during Apartheid, access opportunities for community-led development.
In 2012, the THMC is implementing a HIPPY partner programme in Slovo Informal Settlement and Coronationville.

Afrika Tikkun is an national NGO that provides education, health and social services to children, youth and their families through centres of excellence in South African Townships.
